Shabbat Evening Services

Shabbat services every Friday night (Kabbalat Shabbat) are “alive” with song and joyful prayer. Each service is followed by an Oneg Shabbat (refreshments and schmoozing). Every week our Friday night service brings something new and exciting to our congregation.

(Weekly, beginning at 10 A.M. in person and on livestream)
Shabbat Morning services begin at 10:00am and end at noon. We are an egalitarian congregation; both men and women participate fully in all aspects of this service. It is an upbeat service highlighted by a congregational discussion of the weekly Torah reading, led by the Rabbi. Visitors comment on the haimish (friendly) feeling of this Shabbat morning experience. Following services, the entire congregation is invited to our Kiddush luncheon.  Near the end of lunch,  gather around the Rebbe’s Tish (Rabbi’s table) where we invite the community to sing Shabbat songs, briefly study Torah, and savor the restful beauty of the day.  NOTE: Occasionally, the traditional Shabbat morning service is replaced by our Shabbat 2.0 service (see below)

(1st Sunday of the Month – 11:00 A.M. on Zoom)
This moving service is the place to bring your personal hopes, concerns and prayers. Through music and silent reflection, Jewish ritual and learning, you can deepen your connection to God. Whether you or someone you love is in need of physical or spiritual support, this special service will bring you comfort, serenity and greater peace of mind.

(On hold due to pandemic - Normally 2nd Saturday of the Month when there is a B’nai Mitzvah – 9:45 A.M.)

Following our BLT study session, Shabbat 2.0 is a "Neshama style" service filled with music and singing.  As with BLT, Shabbat 2.0 does not recur on a regular schedule, so check the calendar or contact the office for more information.

(2-3 times per year)
On a crisp Shabbat morning, join one of our Rabbis for a walk or gentle hike in a nearby nature preserve or natural setting as we meditate, sing, discuss and pray.  We end the morning at Temple Aliyah for kiddush lunch with the rest of the congregation.

(1st Saturday of each month at 9:30am)
Celebrate Shabbat with a powerful yoga practice.  With your breath as your guide, gain strength in your body and peach in your mind.  We will incorporate Jewish themes as we flow through a yoga practice as a community.  All ages and levels of experience are welcomed.  Dress appropriately for yoga, and bring a mat if you have one.
