Hazzan Mimi

Hazzan Mimi Haselkorn joined the Temple Aliyah family in July, 2009.  Hazzan Mimi’s love of Jewish music was cultivated at an early age, when as a teenager, she was a soloist in her synagogue choir. She served the San Gabriel Valley community for almost two decades as Cantor and Education Director of Temple Beth David, teaching at the local Jewish Day School and Preschool, as well as leading a monthly Shabbat morning service at Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center.

Hazzan Mimi received her BA in Sociology (with a minor in Jewish Studies) from UCLA. She completed a chaplaincy internship through the Academy of Jewish Religion in June, 2009. Hazzan Mimi studied hazzanut with Hazzanim Allan Michelson (z”l), Nathan Lam, and Joseph Gole.

She is an active member of the Cantors Assembly - formerly serving as a national chair of the education committee - and is currently co-chair of the Western Region, helping to plan regional conferences and events.
