Temple Aliyah counts more than 750 families as members, hosts a vibrant and inclusive religious school and one of the city's most respected early childhood centers. We are proud of how each member brings his or her own story to our diverse community—such as those who have a multi-generational history at our congregation and those new to the city or Temple Aliyah, of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking a Jewish community – a place to call home.

Learning

Our educational programs are first-class, with an early childhood center onsite, one of the finest fully inclusive religious schools in our city, and a robust adult education program. Our goal is to provide for a lifetime of Jewish learning.

Prayer & Worship

With five active clergy members, we offer a dynamic blend of worship opportunities that span from the small and intimate to grand classical services incorporating music from all over the world. Now, as always,  Temple Aliyah is your home.

Temple Aliyah, founded in 1962, is a warm and friendly Conservative Jewish congregation, located in the heart of the West San Fernando Valley in Woodland Hills, California. We’re large enough to be a full-service congregation that offers you and your family every opportunity to expand your Jewish horizons. But we’re small enough for you to feel known and welcome.

Aliyah welcomes individuals, couples and families of all backgrounds – including interfaith, single-parent, blended families and individuals with special needs – we believe Aliyah can be a spiritual home for everyone.

We invite you to explore our Synagogue, Preschool and Religious School to see how Aliyah can serve your entire family.

ALIYAH IS:

  • modernegalitarian congregation, pre-school, religious school, adult education and worship center, founded in 1962, with an innovative approach to Conservative Jewish values
  • warm and inviting atmosphere celebrating Torah and the traditions of Jewish life through the values of education, spirituality and community
  • A place where bridges are built to strengthen Jewish life and enhance relations with other faith communities

Everyone’s unique. Yet no matter where you are in your life, you can experience Jewish life to its fullest with Aliyah.

Some look to a synagogue for inspiring messages from the Rabbis. Others want songful prayers from the Hazzanim (Cantors). Still others simply want to be part of a social congregation and participate in programs that exemplify Jewish living. At Aliyah, you’ll find exactly what you want — in a home for long-term spiritual growth that celebrates every step of the journey.

For children, Aliyah is a place to flourish and find their Jewish identity. For adults, it’s a place to gather, worship and socialize with others who share similar beliefs and values. For extended family, it’s a place to share holidays and celebratory events that create strong memories and even stronger ties.

Aliyah is more than a synagogue, religious school and pre-school — it is a community. We’re a caring community of people — each unique like you — looking to grow and share the Jewish journey together.

Aliyah is a member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism
